What we collect

The society actively collects documentary material, images and objects that interpret the history of the Yass district and directly
relate to the Objectives of the Society.

The collection is arranged on the following themes:

The Society can acquire objects by gift, donation, bequest, purchase or transfer from another society or institution and if
desired dispose of objects by transfer to another organisation, sell by way of public auction or if appropriate, destruction.

The Society does not accept objects on loan other than in exceptional circumstances, and then only for short term exhibitions.

The area covered by the society collection approximates the area covered by the Yass Valley Council.
